Thanks to the UK Government’s Great British Summer Savings initiative, anyone aged from 5 to 15 years inclusive can travel free from the 1st until the 31st August.

Terms and Conditions:

• The offer is valid from 1st August to 31st August 2026 inclusive.
• Children aged 5 to 15 inclusive may travel free on participating Compass Travel bus services. The offer applies only to participating local bus services. It does not apply to private hire, coach excursions, special event services, or any other services specifically excluded by Compass Travel.
• Children under the age of five will continue to travel free under our usual arrangements.
• Passengers must ask the driver for a free child ticket when boarding and state where they are travelling to.  This ticket must be retained for inspection during the journey.
• Proof of age may be requested if the driver believes a passenger may not qualify for the offer. This can be any official document (birth certificate, passport, or school ID).Children aged 10 and under must be accompanied by a responsible (fare paying or have a valid travel pass) person aged 16 or over.
• Free travel is subject to available and legal capacity. Holding or qualifying for a free ticket does not guarantee a seat or permission to board a full bus.
• Compass Travel’s normal Conditions of Carriage continue to apply.
• Passengers must behave safely and considerately. Travel may be refused or withdrawn in cases of unsafe, abusive, disruptive, or antisocial behaviour.
• Free tickets have no cash value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or used with another offer.
• Compass Travel may amend or withdraw the offer if the Government changes, suspends or withdraws the scheme.
