TICKET TYPES
COMPANY WIDE TICKETS
£3.00 Single Fare Cap Offer
Until 31st December 2025, passengers will pay no more than £3.00 per single journey on most services.
The following services are not included in the offer: 43, 45, 107, 227, 318, 415, 428, 468, 500, 625, 662, 740, 743 and all dedicated Brinsbury college services, event services or seasonal services.
– Children under 5 travel free.
– Child tickets can be issued to those aged 5-15 years old inclusive.
Discovery Tickets
With your Discovery ticket, you’re free to explore everything the region has to offer by bus. With unlimited travel across the South Downs National Park and beyond, the Discovery ticket is all you need to make the most of the amazing spaces and places the area has to offer. Discovery – your ticket to explore.
The Discovery ticket is valid on the services of all the main bus operators in West Sussex, East Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Brighton & Hove and East Hampshire, the Discovery ticket is an excellent way to explore the South Downs National Park.
You can buy your ticket from the driver of any Compass Bus service, there are no time restrictions, buy your ticket as early as you like for a full day of discovery and exploring*Exclusions may apply, check with operator.

Compass Rover
The Compass Rover ticket gives unlimited travel on most* Compass Travel routes for a seven day period. This ticket is in addition to our existing great value weekly tickets between any two points on a particular bus route and offers even better value. The Compass Rover costs just £30 for an adult and £15 for a child.
* Compass Rover tickets are not valid on the following bus services – 7, 43, 45, 107, 225, 227, 415, 428, 468, 500, 625, 662, 740, 743 and any special events services or dedicated Brinsbury College or Collyers College services.

Fare deals for young people under 19 or 20
Travelling in or to/from East Sussex
Child fares are available to anyone aged under 19 years old with a valid proof of age ID on any service starting or finishing in East Sussex.
Further to this, up to four children travel for just 50p per single journey with an adult at all times of the day, but also unaccompanied children can travel off peak for £1.00 (Off peak is after 18:00 hours Monday to Friday, but all day on bank holidays, weekends and school holiday
weekdays).
These fare offers are supported by East Sussex County Council and the Department for Transport.
Travelling in West Sussex
Child fares are available to anyone under 16 years old with a valid proof of age on any service starting or finishing in West Sussex.
Further to this anyone aged 16 to 20 will be able to purchase a 16 to 20 Bus Saver ticket directly from the driver, which will be the same price as the existing child rate.
The scheme applies to any direct bus travel starting or finishing in West Sussex.
Before travelling, make sure to bring a valid proof of age – as an alternative to carrying official documents like passports and birth certificates, Citizencard will be accepted.

Travelling in Brighton
Child fares are available to anyone aged under 19 years old with a valid proof of age ID (including BusID) on our CityBuzz 37/37B services in Brighton.
Further to this, up to four children travel free with an adult at all times of the day, but also unaccompanied children can travel off peak for 50p (Off peak is after 18:00 hours Monday to Friday, but all day on bank holidays, weekends and school holiday weekdays).
Brighton and Hove, Bus Service Improvement Plan offers a city wide price cap on short hop journeys in the City for £1.00. This offer has been extended until 31st March 2025.
These fare offers are supported by Brighton and Hove City Council and the Department for Transport.
Travelling in Surrey
The Surrey LINK Card allows young people aged 20 or under who live in Surrey access to cheaper fares. On Compass Travel services 43, 45 and 625 this will give Child fare rates to LINK Card holders on single, return and weekly fares.
On all other Compass Travel services LINK Card holders can get a £1.50 single flat fare anywhere and access to child rate returns and weekly tickets.

West Sussex Student Tickets
- Anyone aged 16 to 20 can now purchase a 16 to 20 Bus Saver fare or ticket, which is the same price as the existing child rate. The scheme applies to any direct bus travel starting or finishing in West Sussex.
- Anyone aged 16-20, with a valid form of I.D. to prove their age, is eligible to buy a 16 to 20 Bus Saver ticket, so long as their journey either starts or ends in West Sussex

Surrey LINK Student Card
- The Surrey LINK card is for young people aged 20 and under who live in Surrey.
- Apply for a Surrey LINK bus card – Surrey County Council
- It can be used on any single or return bus journey that starts and/or finishes in Surrey and allows you to get 50% off the adult fare for the journey you are taking. On our routes this is the equivalent of a child fare.
Additional offer:
- LINK card holders can get a flat fare £1.50 single at anytime of day until further notice (except for services 43, 45 and 625 where this offer is not valid).
- Two LINK cards are available, one for under 16 years and another for 16-21 years of age.
- LINK cards can be obtained from Surrey County Council free of charge to anyone who is eligible.
Brighton & Hove Buses
All Brighton & Hove Buses Saver tickets are accepted on services 37/37B/37C including Smart, Paper and M-Tickets.

Brighton & Hove
Adult single fares are capped at £3.00 per single journey on all our services in Brighton – click here for more details. Short journeys within the Brighton & Hove City Council area previously priced at £1.70 are now £1.00. This offer has been extended until 31st March 2025.
A lower fare has been introduced across the citySAVER area for medium length journeys up to two stages as an ongoing saving at £2.80, previously £3.20. Journeys over three or more fare stage remain at £3.20 but capped at £3.00 until 31 December 2025.
